Why wasn’t a word highlighted?

Check Whole words only (“art” does not match “start”) and Match case. Phrases must match exactly, including spaces. Text you had already highlighted yourself is counted but not recoloured.

Will Clear remove my own highlights?

No. Wordlight remembers the colours it painted and removes only those. If you use one of your list colours by hand too, Wordlight treats that colour as its own, so pick list colours you don’t use elsewhere.

I edited my text. Why are the highlights out of date?

Highlights are not live. Click Highlight again, or use Extensions → Wordlight → Highlight again.

Which parts of the document are checked?

The body of the open tab, including tables. Headers, footers and footnotes are not checked.

Where are my lists?

In the document, once you click Highlight. Use Save as my default lists to start new documents with the same lists.
