Text Cleaner for Google Docs
A free Google Docs add-on that fixes text pasted from PDFs, web pages and other documents, sorts lists and changes case.
What it fixes
- Lines broken by copying from a PDF, including words split with a hyphen at the line end
- Double spaces, spaces before punctuation, tabs, non-breaking and zero-width characters
- Quotes, dashes and ellipses, in either direction: straight or curly, hyphen or dash
- Extra blank paragraphs and leftover fonts and colours from web pages
Also
- Sort paragraphs or a list A to Z, Z to A, or by number (Item 2 before Item 10); remove duplicates
- Change case: Sentence case, Title Case, UPPERCASE, lowercase
How to use it
- Select the text to fix.
- Open Extensions → Text Cleaner and choose Clean selected text, or a single command such as Remove line breaks.
- Choose what to keep and remove in Configure…. Your settings are remembered.
